CLAMONT (Steel Frame)

I bought this bike in Nov. 1987 at a bike shop in Sydney, Australia. The maker seems to be CLAMONT. Looking at me, a clerk at the bike shop said that this was made in Japan! Well... was it true? I asked the owner of the shop to assemble equipments so that I would be able to ride across Australia. The bike was for turing; it was heavy but strong.

I sold it away in October 1999, though I was deeply attached to since I had ridden for more than 12 years.
I had changed the wheels twice. The first time was when I was riding across Australia. A spoke of the rear wheel broke every day when I was riding from Adelaide to Canberra after riding over 2000km carrying over 20kg luggage. I wanted to fix it. But there was no town. And finally, the wheel crashed. The second time was after I came back to Japan. A man at a bike shop said that the frame was a bit bent. It seemed very natural after hard riding in Australia.

TREK 5200 with MAVIC HELIUM

I was hitten by a stupid car on 22 Oct. 1999. The car suddenly turned to the left to go into a petrol station, hit me, and the front wheel bent cruelly. Althought I could ride back to home, I relized that it was hopeless afterward. I ventured to buy a pair of HELIUM. Although I wanted cheeper ones, the shop I went had only expensive ones, unfortunately.

GIANT IGUANA === Year 2003 model (probably) ===

29 July 2002 - I bought it.

For some reason, I bought MTB suddenly although I was a road-bike rider.
I have changed some components so as to make it fit for riding on roads since I am going to use it for commuting and training.

Although, I rode the bike leaving handle-bar original for a few days, I fonud that the width was too wide for riding on roads. So, I chopped it off about 1.8" both side.

In July 2005, I gave it away to Yuri-chan who lived next door of the flat I used to live when I was in Sydney.
